CHEAT THE SIMS 4

Remember cheat codes? A string of letters, numbers, or button combinations that would unlock goodies and easier gameplay modes? Usually written in by developers, cheat codes allow playtesters to make sure all aspects of a game work the way they are intended.

In more recent years, though, developers have been a lot more careful about covering their tracks, and cheat codes have been a lot harder to come by. Not so with The Sims, however: Now seeing its fourth iteration at 14 years of age, the life simulation game has always had codes that allow you to get nice little bonuses.
For previous players of The Sims, these codes will be very familiar. To enter them, you need to hit Ctrl+Shift+C on a Windows PC or Cmd+Shift+C on a Mac. This will open up the cheat console; type in your code and hit Enter for each cheat.
Note that the brackets aren't required -- they simply denote that you need to customise your code. Also, for cheats that give two options in brackets, you simply choose the one that applies. For example, to make all real estate in the game free, you would type "freeRealEstate on".
There is also one building mode cheat that we know of: when an object is selected, holding down Shift while pressing the ] key will increase the object's size.
On one final note, some of these codes were discovered by Sims forum user TwistedMexican. You can find his full list -- including some codes that haven't yet been tested -- on the Sims 4 forum here.
